💡 Your expertise can save lives. We Are Here is looking for a Head ofData and Technology Strategy to help us build and maintain the data infrastructure behind our life-changing platform. Your work will directly help connect people experiencing or at risk of homelessness to vital support services—and we’ll support you every step of the way.
🌍 About We Are Here
We Are Here is a soon-to-be-registered charity tackling homelessness and hidden homelessness in the UK. We’re building a first-of-its-kind, AI powered, offline-accessible interactive map that will empower individuals and families by quickly locating essential resources around them, from shelters and food banks to mental health, legal, immigration, community support and more, all in one place.
Our team consists of dedicated professionals with expertise across social impact and investment, PR, marketing, legal, fundraising, finance and design—balancing full-time jobs while driving this initiative forward. We also have a team of developers ready to support our Data and Tech Specialist, but we need the right person to maximize our impact.

🛠What You’ll Do
✅ Design and maintain the database that powers our platform.
✅ Develop smart solutions for collecting, verifying, and structuring crucial data.
✅ Work with a team of developers who will support you in implementing your vision.
✅ Recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with data-related tasks—you don’t have to do it all alone!
✅ Advise on tech best practices to ensure our system is scalable and effective.
🔹 Ideal Skills & Experience
We’re looking for a data-minded problem solver who can help us shape a system that works in the real world. You’d be a great fit if you have:
✔ Experience with data management, databases, or data strategy (PostgreSQL + PostGIS, Firebase, MongoDB, or similar).
✔ Familiarity with mapping and geolocation tools (Google Maps API, Google Places API, OpenStreetMap, Mapbox).
✔ A problem-solving mindset
✔ Confidence to lead but also delegate
