As a Data Analyst you will join the Engineering Inspection Data Team, working under the direction of the Engineering Inspection Data and Analytics Manager, with a specific focus on our Engineering Inspection business. You will get to work on strategic data projects, agile proofs-of-of value, ad hoc data exploration and insight activities. Details
You will:
- Perform analysis and develop data products that will help hundreds of staff in supporting our customers, and influence our business strategy.
- Build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders around the business in helping to create data driven solutions to business problems.
- Identify and integrate new data sources, perform exploration and deliver results, from business intelligence dashboards through to research projects and ad hoc insights.
- Work in a complex and sometimes ambiguous environment, often with disparate and imperfect data, looking for opportunities to simplify, standardise and enhance.
- Work with skilled professionals from IT, data and business teams across the UK organisation as well as other global Allianz entities.
- Learn and advocate for best architectural and governance practice in building and deploying data products.
- Draft and refine business requirements for data, reporting and analytic needs.
- Educate and inform non-technical users on best practices in interacting with and interpreting data products.
About You
Key Requirements:
- Base level of numerical competence – bachelor’s degree in a numerate, scientific or computing subject (e.g. Computer Science, Business analytics, Data Science, Maths, Economics, Physics …).
- Practical experience of data manipulation and analysis using Advanced Excel and SQL.
- Experience working in a project environment or managing large items of work– ideally in the context of data.
- Experience in presenting and stakeholder management.
- An interest in developing new skills.
- Great communication skills, team player, self-starter.
- Organised, demonstrated strong work ethic, results driven and able to hit deadlines.
Desirable:
- Programming experience in Python, R
- Analytics technologies: SAS, SQL, Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, MicroStrategy
- Database concepts and tools
- Thorough understanding of probability and statistics
