We're searching for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our growing Critical Data Products team. This team is pivotal in delivering and enhancing high-quality, robust data solutions that underpin Pleo’s essential data-driven products and operations. You will directly impact our customers by empowering critical business areas in a multi-functional data team. You’ll be part of the broader Product Hub within the Data competence, collaborating with a team across a broad range of product and operational related data initiatives.
What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will:
- Partnering with product and operational teams to develop data solutions that enable critical products and reporting.
- Driving key strategic projects across the domain, dipping in and out as needed to provide leadership and hands-on support.
- Supporting multiple teams across Payments, Customer Operations and Cashflow in delivering impactful data and analytics solutions.
- Collaborating with the leadership team and other data leaders to set the vision for Pleo’s scalable reporting strategy.
- Enhancing our data infrastructure and pipelines to improve scalability, performance, and data quality.
- Supporting analysts and data scientists with deployment, monitoring and reliability of key data products.
- Experimenting with and implementing innovative technologies to keep Pleo’s data stack at the forefront of the industry.
- Mentoring engineers, analysts, and data scientists to foster growth and build a world-class data team.
What you bring

- Have a strong background in building and managing data infrastructure at scale for analytics and reporting purposes, with expertise in Python, SQL, BigQuery, GCP, AWS, dbt and, Airflow.
- Are an expert in data modelling and building scalable data pipelines.
- Have deep experience in reliability and monitoring solutions for business continuity, appropriate to the use-cases at hand.
- Are naturally curious and enthusiastic about experimenting with new tech to solve complex problems in a scalable manner.
- Can effectively translate product requirements and challenging problems into technical data solutions.
- Take pride in fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and learning across an organisation.
- Are committed to ensuring the reliability and accuracy of data and data products.
- Have experience in financial operations, payments, credit and/or compliance.
